LIFE NI moves offices

LIFE NI has moved!
For staff and volunteers at LIFE NI, 2012 has already become the year of the big move!
We’ve spent the last six weeks packing boxes and shifting furniture, then unpacking boxes, shifting furniture, cleaning and painting and all the other bits and pieces that go with re-locating!
Now we’re settling in to our new offices at 48 University Street! We’re just round the corner from Botanic Ave and opposite Duke’s Hotel, so it’s an ideal location.
And after 31 years in Bryson House, where the first LIFE Office opened in October 1980, its nice to have our own office building—a new building for a new chapter in the life of our organisation with room to grow and develop our services.
As well as housing the Regional Office and Pregnancy Matters Centre, the building will give us scope to open our first charity shop. Plans are underway to have this up and running before the summer. We’re really excited about so many new opportunities!

30th Anniversary Dinner

The LIFE NI event of the year took place on Saturday 5th March. A gala dinner to mark our 30th Anniversary was held in La Mon Hotel and Country Club.
Over 270 guests, many of whom had sponsored tables, attended the dinner including those from the business community and past and present volunteers and supporters. Special guests included well-known church leaders and politicians.
Sid and Jean Garland, the founders of LIFE NI and Jack and Nuala Scarisbrick, the founders of the national charity, were guests of honour at the event.
It was a wonderful evening and thanks to the generosity of those attending and the sterling efforts of the organising committee in keeping costs to a minimum, the whole event has raised over £17,500 for LIFE NI.

30th Anniversary Event

The date and venue for a gala dinner to celbrate LIFE NI’s 30th Anniversary has been announced. The event will be held on Saturday 5th March at La Mon hotel and Country Club.
All past and present volunteers and supporters are invited to join us for the special event.
Connections Roadshow 2010

The Connection 2010 roadshow is over for another year. Finishing last Friday in Lurgan, the conferences had a successful run again this year with 4314 pupils and 221 teachers form 74 schools attending the 10 venues.

LIFE National Conference

Three delegates from LIFE NI are attending the National conference at the Ramada Hotel in Kenilworth near Birmingham this weekend, along with delegates from LIFE groups throughout the UK.
