COUNSELLING
Pregnancy Counselling
Counselling and support is available to help those facing unexpected pregnancy or when there is a pregnancy crisis.
Pregnancy loss counselling & support
Pregnancy loss comes in different forms—miscarriage, stillbirth, abortion.
Whatever the situation, those experiencing this kind of loss may need help and support. This area of counselling is more specialised and is available by appointment.
The counselling offered by Pregnancy Matters conforms to BACP standards. LIFE is an organisational member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy; LIFE NI is a member of the Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy. Diploma level counsellors are available to provide contractual counselling.
SUPPORT

Ongoing help and support during pregnancy and after birth is an important part of our service, designed to meet a range of different needs, from the emotional to the practical.
Experiencing post-natal depression Counselling and ongoing support is available to women who may be experiencing the baby blues or post-natal depression.
Practical support
LIFE can provide good quality second hand baby clothes; ‘New Mum-to-be’ or ‘New Mum’ packs and in certain circumstances financial assistance may be available.
Information
The local centres or regional office can help provide information on pregnancy related issues, eg benefits, job rights, adoption.
CARE CENTRES
We have care centres in Belfast, Newry and Derry. Currently, the Belfast Centre offers both drop-in sessions and appointments; Derry and Newry Centres operate on an appointments only basis; however, telephone counselling offers further availability.
While it is mainly women who access our services, men are also more than welcome to contact us.
